Is Pia Wurtzbach Hosting Asia’s Next Top Model?
Our queen Pia is reigning again, but this time, could it be as a new host of Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 5?
Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach had been conquering the universe, but it seems that she’s adding more glitter to her crown. Just very recently, a Facebook page of Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 5 released this photo:
To add to this, the queen herself tweeted merely hours before that she is “…excited for new things to come.” Is Pia hinting at this hosting stint?
Netizens all over the world have been raving since the photo was put up. The majority are thrilled and delighted of having Pia in the AsNTM mix. But as to be expected, many shook their heads. Pia is undeniably drop-dead gorgeous, confidently beautiful with a heart as it goes. However, some argue that she is not a high-fashion model to be part of the show. Being a beauty queen is actually a bane in Top Model history.
Nonetheless, whether the anouncement is legitimate or not (the show and Pia has not confirmed it yet), the idea is a very good one. Pia would make a killer of a host in AsNTM. Here’s why:
She started young
Pia was 11 years old when she started modelling. Shortly after, ABS-CBN launched her acting career together with Bea Alonzo and Angeline Aguilar. She has been in the business (and breadwinner) until she was 17. She’s had the girl power from her younger years.

She has modelling in her veins
Forget the haters when they say she’s too peagent-material. Pia is way, way more than that. She can walk the runway, smize through the lens, strike a pose and wear high-fashion like no one else can.
Pia walked in American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women event presented by Macy’s. She donned a striking red gown made by Carmen Marc Valvo.
Pia also walked for Sherri Hill during the New York Fashion Week last February and she was stunning and regal as she conquered the runway. For the rest of the Fashion Week, she graced shows with high fashion and class.
And let’s not forget her Miss U moments! The catwalks, smizes and posing are just perfect. We won the crown, didn’t we?
She is the perfect Filipina successor
Fellow Filipinas Joey Mead-King and Georgina Wilson had been on the show. Joey was a main judge and mentor for Cycles 2 and 3 while Georgina was the host and head judge for Cycle 3. Who better to follow up these two amazing women than our very own Miss Universe?
She has the character of a mentor
We know Tyra Banks as a mother mentor to all contestants on the show. She never fails to encourage and inspire. The same can be seen from Pia. With her candid, cheerful demeanor, she shows off positivity. With her rawness and realness in all her interviews and speeches, she can really touch people’s hearts. More importantly, she can build up others from the experiences she has had in life.
Pia, whether hosting or not, is worthy of the job. Almost everyone hopes that she really is hosting the show. Until she announces it herself, let us hope for our queen to land the stint.
